Before you begin, measure the area to be covered. Then cut your post to measurement. Remember to allow for a slope. Drill holes on the awning rail. Check the instruction manual for dimensions. Slide the mounting channel into the awning rail.
Step 1 — Mounting the Awning Rail
Attach the awning rail to the structure. See the manual for the type of screws needed. Apply silicone to the back side of the entire rail.
Step 2 — Attaching the Two Roof Panels
Attach the panel on each side to the awning rail. Check the manual for screw type. Don’t tighten the screws yet. Slide in the Styrofoam flashing plug to prevent water leaks.
Step 3 — Attaching the Header Beam to the Posts
Attach the post brackets to the beam. Check the manual for spacing recommendations. Slide the posts in place and attach them to the bracket on both sides using screws. Do the same for the other side.
Step 4 — Attaching the Beam and Posts to the Roof Panel
Stand the beam and posts upright with the roof panels sitting lightly on them. You can do this one at a time if it is easier for you. Set your measurements for the placement of the beam. Check the manual for recommendations. Attach the roof panel to the beam. Make sure the posts are level. Mark the position. Place the bracket in position and mark the holes for drilling. Drill all four holes. Place the bracket back in position. Place the concrete anchors in the holes.
