To clean spilled candle wax off of furniture and flooring, freeze the wax with an ice cube. Then use a plastic scraper or credit card to pop it off – simple as that!

To get rid of a cigarette burn on a desk, table, or other piece of wood furniture, just take a razor blade or utility knife and very gently scrape away the charred area. Touch up any missing color with a Minwax Wood Finish Stain Marker. If you need to tidy up the finish as well, use a drop or two of Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane to fill in the necessary areas. Dab on with a toothpick to fix small spots.

White rings are a sign of an old finish that is wearing out because they are nothing more than moisture that has been absorbed. To remove them, use Wipe-On Poly. If they’re recent, you might be able to get rid of them using a bit of abrasion with a pad of very fine steel wool moistened with Tung Oil Finish or Wipe-On Poly. Put the oil on the pad and very gently buff out the white ring, which will release the moisture from the wood.

To give old lumber additional protection, place a coat of Tung Oil or Wipe-On Poly over the entire surface of your. This will give it more protection.
