The double-deep automated warehouse offers a great balance between storage capacity and handling speed. Capacity takes priority, so access aisles can be eliminated in the facility. This reduces installation costs and the number of stacker cranes.
Mecalux stacker cranes are designed to raise the goods while they are moved longitudinally, this optimises location and extraction times. The beams of the second location (in depth) are offset to facilitate the extension of the forks into the rack. Double-depth entails a new principle: relocations. These movements are necessary when the pallet required is stored in the second location of the rack.
The design of the stacker cranes minimises the forces transmitted to the structure, and as such the durability of the installation increases. For more information, visit: https://www.interlakemecalux.com/automated-storage-retrieval-systems-asrs
